INSIGHT (International Network for Support, Inclusion, Global Harmony, and Training) is an Erasmus KA2 initiative that aims to strengthen higher education institutions (HEIs) in supporting internationalisation and fostering multicultural communities. The project responds to a clear need within higher education: while internationalisation has expanded, international students, staff, researchers, and diverse academic communities often face fragmented support, limited access to services, and barriers to full participation in institutional life.
At the core of INSIGHT is the development and strengthening of Unified Contact Points (UCPs)—coordinated institutional structures that connect services, information, and support for international students and staff across their full academic journey. By improving institutional capacity, professional competencies, and systemic knowledge of cultural diversity, INSIGHT helps HEIs build more inclusive, accessible, and resilient environments.
The project combines professional study visits, long-term training programmes, cultural and educational activities, and the development of practical methodologies and digital resources. These actions enhance intercultural competence among administrative and academic staff, support Internationalisation at Home, and promote meaningful interaction between international and local communities.
Through its network-based and practice-oriented approach, INSIGHT contributes to sustainable institutional change, ensuring that inclusive internationalisation becomes an embedded and lasting feature of higher education.
Stronger support services
We strengthen higher education institutions’ capacity to develop and improve Unified Contact Points (UCPs) that provide clear, coordinated, and inclusive support for international students and staff. We do this through professional study visits and by developing a practical, shared methodology that institutions can adapt and sustain over time.
Enhanced skills and competences
We empower academic and administrative staff, as well as students, to build intercultural, digital, and communication skills needed in multicultural learning and working environments. We achieve this through workshops, educational courses, and peer-learning activities that support inclusive practices and Internationalisation at Home.
Connecting international and local communities
We encourage meaningful interaction between international and domestic communities to foster dialogue, collaboration, and mutual understanding within higher education institutions. Through cultural events, tandems, lectures, virtual exchanges, and digital resources, we promote inclusion, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
