Integrating international students goes far beyond the classroom — it also means discovering the culture, history, and spirit of the host country. At Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), cultural engagement is at the heart of the international student experience.

Cultural experiences that bring students together

As part of its commitment to welcoming and supporting international students, the Intercultural and Languages Center, International Relations Office, organizes four cultural visits each academic year.

Open to both exchange and independently enrolled international students, these outings offer meaningful opportunities to connect, share, and explore together.

These visits encourage intercultural exchange, strengthen social connections, and deepen understanding of French history and culture.

A highlight of the semester: a Seine river cruise

On Thursday, April 16, under a beautiful sunny sky, 19 international students from 10 different countries took part in a must-do Parisian experience: a cruise along the Seine.

Guided by the renowned Vedettes du Pont Neuf, participants enjoyed breathtaking views of some of Paris’s most iconic landmarks.

This unique journey offered a new perspective on the city, a moment of shared discovery, and lasting memories of Paris and its rich heritage.

Beyond sightseeing, these cultural visits play a key role in helping students feel at home, build friendships, and fully immerse themselves in French culture.
