Sharing ideas and learning from peers are at the heart of international conferences. At the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, USA, GreenEUR contributed to these discussions with a poster presentation showcasing its approach to measuring the environmental impact of international cooperation projects.
Presented by Gülsüm Karaman from Eskişehir Technical University, representing the GreenEUR consortium, the poster introduced the project’s innovative framework for measuring and improving the environmental sustainability of international cooperation projects.
The poster demonstrated how the GreenEUR framework combines qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to evaluate the environmental impact of international projects and helps project teams identify opportunities for more sustainable implementation. The GreenEUR Environmental Impact Calculator and the GreenEUR Label were also presented as practical tools for supporting greener project management.
The poster was selected as the Best Poster in the Environmental Sustainability in International Education category at the conference, providing GreenEUR valuable visibility within the international higher education community.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity to engage with participants from around the world, revealing interesting cultural differences in how sustainability is perceived, prioritised, and discussed across higher education contexts.
