On June 30, 2026, the University of Alcalá hosted the workshop “Supporting international mobility: well-being, mental health and practical resources”, addressed to International Relations Office (IRO) staff and coordinators, organised within the framework of the Mobile Minds in Motion (MMM) project.
The session brought together more than 30 participants from universities and institutions across Spain, including the University of Alcalá, Comillas Pontifical University, Complutense University of Madrid, Carlos III University of Madrid, the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the University of Valencia, University of Barcelona, University of Castilla-La Mancha, University of Leon, and Spain’s National Agency for Erasmus+ (SEPIE).

Participants engaged during the Mobile Minds in Motion workshop at the University of Alcalá
The workshop focused on the role of university staff and mobility coordinators in supporting students before, during, and after their international mobility experience. Participants were introduced to the project’s practical resources, including handouts, articles, videos, podcasts, and the self-assessment tool available through the MMM Learning Hub.
A key part of the session was devoted to case studies based on common situations in student mobility. Working in groups, participants discussed how to identify student needs, recognise warning signs, provide initial guidance, use available resources, and refer students to appropriate support services when needed.
The discussion highlighted the importance of clear information, coordinated action, and realistic support pathways for students who experience difficulties during mobility. The workshop also provided a valuable space for exchange between universities and professionals involved in internationalisation and student support.
The MMM project continues to promote preventive mental health, emotional sustainability and practical support for mobile students across Europe.
