The AsCOLA project was represented by ESN at the 20th annual Erasmus Congress and Exhibition (ERACON) held in Porto, Portugal, from the 24th to the 28th of June 2024. Participants ranging from Erasmus coordinators, representatives from European institutions, researchers and professionals from academia and business had the chance to hear more about the AsCOLA research conclusions, delve into students’ needs and understand the impact and use case of the AsCOLA tool for course evaluation.
The session “Teaching and learning: what is the student’s perspective, and how can we improve mobility participation? A look into the AsCOLA project” was chaired by Adela Smejkalova from ESN who had the opportunity to guide participants on research conclusions pointing towards how to improve the quality of teaching and learning on mobility. After a brief introduction on the topic and the main goals of the AsCOLA project, the research conclusions on requirements for evaluation methodology of Erasmus+ courses were presented, along with the XV ESNsurvey conclusions on students’ needs. Participants also had the chance to take part in a practical exercise, where they discussed how teaching and learning can be improved, taking into account the results of the AsCOLA institutional survey. Finally, the AsCOLA tool was briefly presented to entice participants to use it once it is available.
The session was very well received by all participants, with positive feedback, showcasing the positive impact that the AsCOLA research and upcoming online tool can have on improving the quality of the student mobility experience.
